Introduction

By default all products are available for free. In order for your merchants to charge for their products, certain steps need to be taken.

First, you’ll need to turn on this feature in the Store settings page.

Our payment provider is Stripe. If you don’t have a Stripe account, you can create one for free. You’ll need to provide your business details, and a method of payment. Stripe is supported in most countries.

Then you’ll need to connect your Stripe account, so we can route income revenue to your account. You can set your rev share cut in this module configuration. This can also be zero if you want your merchants to get all the proceeds (after processing fees).

Once this feature is enabled, merchants will be able to connect their own Stripe accounts, for payments.

Subscriptions

We support both one-off purchases as well as subscriptions. Subscriptions allow merchants to charge for usage of their products on a recurring basis.

Tipping based pricing

We also support a voluntary pricing model. Merchants can decide to let their customers decide the price of their products, like a tip.

Refunds

Managing refund is a key part of running a marketplace. Your team can start a refund process for a specific purchase, from the Purchases page on the Dashboard app. Merchants can also refund purchases from the Purchases page on the Merchants purchases management embeddable component.

External billing system

If you want to use your own billing system, you’ll need to connect it to SideDish. We are currently working on support for this feature. Contact our team at hi@sidedish.dev if you want to know more.
